SAMARKAND - my native city

Samarkand is one of the most ancient cities of the world. Samarkand is situated at the crossroads of caravan routes and played an important role in the economic ties of the countries of the East. Samarkand had difficult and at the same time contradictory history.
Samarkand today is a regional administrative, cosmopolitan center of Uzbekistan. The population of Samarkand is more than 530000. It is scientific and industrial center. It has university, factories, research centers, libraries, museums and theaters.
Visitors who come to this city admire the artistic talents and skills of the ancient architects. Registan square is the center of Samarkand. It is my favorite place. I use to like to relax there. This place is wonderful. It's architecture is amazing and classic music is always played here.
I like this city and I would like to visit it again.

The city that I know well

My native town is called Gurzuf. It is a wonderful place, in which everyone can find something for himself. Gurzuf has a very good location. It is situated between the Black Sea, from the south, and the Crimean mountains, from the north. The most spectacular views delight a big amount of visitors every year.
In summer it is hot and winters are very warm. In summer many tourists on holidays, where they can swim in the warm sea, sunbathe on pebble beaches and breathe fresh sea air. In the evening there is an exciting nightlife, which is very popular in my town. Even those who do not like discos can walk along the seafront, taste delicious meal and marvel at the moon road on the sea.
International Children Center "Artek" is situated in my town. There are always many children here. In the end of the summer, in Artek there is a children festival, which is called "New wave". Many famous singers take part on this festival, so it is very popular.
Also there are two big parks in my town, which are very old. Here you can see old trees, palms, a big number of fountains, sculptures of many famous writers, musicians and artists. I like these parks very much and it is my favorite place in the town, because I spent here all my childhood.
It is very beautiful in spring. The town sinks in a big amount of various sorts of roses. If you walk along the main street you can see many artists, drawing its old streets and exciting nature.
If you are the last romantic and like history you should see in person this town, which has an ancient name - Gurzuf.

A place I know well
My native city is Simferopol. It is the capital of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea in southern Ukraine. I have been living here for 17 years. So I know this city very well. The cities population is 340,600 people. Simferopol has a main railway station which serves millions of tourists every year. Unfortunately, we haven’t got an underground system in our city.
There are two best parks in Simferopol. Gagarinsky Park is mostly visited by students and children. Some cafes and attractions are situated here . Salgirka Park is for flower lovers. Now it is changed into botanical garden. It is very spectacular view.
I like city center because there is always noisy and crowded. Sometimes here arrange concerts and shows. It is very exciting.
In conclusion I would like to say that I love my city very much.

Presentation "The Victoria Falls"
The Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. Victoria Falls are a spectacular sigh of awe - inspiring beauty and grandeur. on the Zambezi River, bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The Local people call it 'Mosi - oa - Tunya' - 'the Smoke that Thunders'.
In more modern terms it is known as 'the greatest known curtain of falling water'. Columns of spray can be seen from miles away as 546 million cubic meters of water per minute plummet over the edge.
The wide basalt cliff, over which the falls thunder, transforms the Zambezi from a wide placid river yo a ferocious torrent cutting through a series of dramatic gorges. In 1851, Livingstone first heard of the great waterfall, but it was only 1855 that he sat out to visit it.
He said: 'No one can imagine the beauty of the view from anything witnessed in England. It had never been seen before European eyes, but scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight'(1857)
To fully appreciate the incredible size of the Falls, and the awesome power of the water as it carves into the deep zig-zagging gorges for eight kilometres, one must see it from the air. You can also visit The Victotia Falls Bridge - The Bridge affords a magnificent view both down the gorge on the one side and through to the falls on the other. You can also throw yourself off this bridge on a bunji rope if you dare.

A place I know well

A place I know well - Simferopol.
Simferopol is the cspital of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea in the south of Ukraine. As the capital of the Crimea, Simferopol is an important political, economic and transport center. The population of this city is 344 000 people.
This city has shopping malls, street markets, amazing parks, where you can always see charming nature. Simferopol is a cosmopolitan, peaceful city. But it has one big disadvantage, it is a dirty city.
I love this city, because here I was born and has lived all my life. My favourite place is the Salgirka park, because that is where I can enjoy the beauty of the nature in any season. This park is always so quiet and comfortable. The beauty of various flowers and trees, birds singing calms you and improves your mood.
There is no place that I like least! I like my city, I'm used to it. It is native and special for me.

Publishing your presentation on the blog
We have enjoyed your presentations at the lesson. Good job! Now you need to publish them on the blog, but you can not do it directly here. Basically, there are three ways to do it:
1. You can publish your PowerPoint presentation on a special site, for example http://www.slideshare.net. For this, you need to sign up and get a free account, upload your presentation and get the "embed in your blog" code. After this you can use the code in your post on the Blogger. If you need help, here is a presentation explaining everything in detail: How to embed PowerPoint presentations using SlideShare. This method has a huge disadvantage - animation effects, inserted videos and sound will be lost.
2. Another way is to convert your presentation into video and then publish it. You can do it on-line on authorstream.com. Here is a video tutorial in case you need assistance. In short, you will need to get a free account, upload your presentation, wait till it is converted and get the code to use on the blog. You can also use some video converting software, for instance, E.M. Free PowerPoint Video Converter. You can download the program and use the How to upload PowerPoint to YouTube Tutorial.
3. The last method is a unique possibility to record a video of yourself presenting! You will only need a computer with a web camera and a microphone. You just go to present.me and get a free account. Upload your presentation (max. 50 mbt), click "Record" and present into your webcam. The resulting presentation will have your slides on the left and your webcam recording on the right! Now you can publish it and be proud of yourself!
So, choose one of the methods and share your presentations with the world!
